The Transport Minister said the proposed ECRL stop will be built above the new KTM station that will be constructed between the Batang Benar station in Negri Sembilan and Bangi in Selangor.
“This way, those using KTM services such as Komuter will be able to switch to the ECRL at the new station and vice versa to get to their destinations along the new route.
“The proposed integrated station will be located very near the Arab Malaysian Industrial area, the Nilai Inland Port and the Nilai 3 wholesale market, and will enhance inter-connectivity.
“The new ECRL and KTM stations will also be built in a densely populated area as there are several residential areas nearby, ” he told reporters after visiting the Land Office here where a plan of the proposed ECRL route running through the state was being displayed.
Loke said the existing KTM station in Nilai will not be closed once the proposed new station is built along the Batang Benar-Bangi stretch.
Apart from the Nilai station, the ECRL will have another station in the state that will be located in Klawang in Jelebu.
Loke said the Klawang station would be built on a plot of land near the Kuala Klawang Vocational College and the Jelebu Hospital.
“The Klawang station will be built along the stretch linking Kuala Klawang and Titi, ” he said.
Loke said work on the stations should commence in the third quarter of this year.
“The company undertaking the project has identified some 4,749 lots that would need to be acquired along the 58.87km ECRL stretch in Negri Sembilan, ” he said.
Loke advised the public to visit their respective land offices to see the proposed alignment for the ECRL route in the state.
The plan will be on display for three months till April 14.
The 640km ECRL project scheduled for completion in 2026 will run from Kota Baru to Port Klang.
It has been divided into three packages with package A from Kota Baru to Dungun covering a stretch of 210km, package B (265km from Dungun to Mentakab), and package C (165km from Mentakab to Port Klang).
Project owner Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRLSB) had formed a joint venture with China Communications Construction Company to operate and maintain the project.
Any profits will be shared on a 80:20 basis between MRLSB and CCCC respectively.
