During the 1997 economic crisis, Pier joined Hartamas Real Estate Agents (now known as Hartaemas Real Estate Sdn Bhd) and established the Corporate Real Estate Division. The division grew into a five-man team which served the Klang Valley market. The private sector was then becoming sluggish due to the crisis and the government agencies were still looking for expansion. Then Putrajaya was not able to cater the ever growing needs of these agencies.
Several successes such as the marketing of KL Sentral as sole agent in 2001, the marketing of Tabung Haji’s Sentral Tower in KL Sentral saw the re-launching of the sales of offices as well as the tenancy of MIDA.
Following KL Sentral, other successes such as TH Perdana in Maju Junction and TH Selborn in Jalan Tun Razak saw dealings with many government agencies which included DBKL, Mindef, Suruhanjaya Tenaga to mention a few.
In 2005, he joined Kuwait Finance House (M) Bhd, an Islamic bank which opened in the same year. He was privileged to work in the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur project which involved a real estate fund under KFH Kuwait buying into a 13-acre project consisting of a seven-storey shopping podium with a retail space of over 1.3 million square feet, a boutique hotel, 2 residential towers consisting of 368 units and a 20-storey office building. KFH Malaysia Bhd later underwrote the two residential towers in which a tower was successfully sold to individual buyers and the other was sold en bloc.
With the experience he gained at KFHMB, he joined CBD Properties in 2008 and now runs the Corporate Real Estate Department and Investments Division. He specializes in corporate office and investments. Currently, he is working with developers on interest from the Middle East.
